Do you Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ?
1 Corinthians 15:13-14 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ does not rise, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Resurrection is the base or the foundation of our faith. Resurrection is the final thing Jesus completed. He died to rose again. His virgin birth and death on the cross is the first journey to his destiny. For a lot of people believers or nonbelievers, it is less easy to believe Christ’s birth and death on the cross. Even his disciples who were very close to Him who heard about resurrection not clearly understood it. Their lives were different before and after the resurrection.
Sadness and fear and mourning marked the direction of their religion before they knew that Jesus was raised from the dead – their direction was toward the grave. When they heard the angelic witness, ‘He is risen, as He said,’ the direction immediately shifted away from the tomb. They started preaching his resurrection they touched him, ate with him, talked with him and there was no doubt about his resurrection and therefore they become martyrs.
After the resurrection of Jesus, they received the command to go and preach the gospel to all nations (Mat 28:18-20), and the church planting started from the City of Jerusalem until the end of the world. Even if today there are a lot of theories against the resurrection, the existence of Christianity for more than 2000 years, our joyous and happy and life-changing message of the gospel is evidence of the resurrection.
